Merlin Musical Episode

Just imagine.

  • Merlin was really annoyed with Arthur and decided to make him sing for the rest of the day but he accidentally makes all of Camelot sing
  • The whole plot follows a day in the life of Camelot as Merlin tries to undo the spell/curse/whatever
  • I’m imagining that Uther and the knights exist at the same time here
  • Uther is away on king business or something
  • Songs include:
  • “The Same Coin” - Kilgharrah’s song when Merlin is ranting about Arthur again
  • “Idiot Manservant” - Sung by Arthur while he’s looking for Merlin. Features Gaius with one line: “The tavvvvvverrrn.” The song does, however, have a nice bridge where Arthur reflects on his friendship with Merlin and how much he appreciates him- until he sees that his armor isn’t polished and goes back to rage-singing (but it’s not really rage cause when is Arthur ever truly mad at Merlin?)
  • “Clotpole King” - The kingdom of Camelot sings this out of the pure love they have for Arthur
  • “My Secret“ - Sung by Merlin. It’s a dramatic solo sung by himself in a moment of severe emotion. Probably in the forest or something or it plays in the background while he walks around Camelot living his daily life
  • “By Your Side” - The song of the knights. They sing this during training and it’s basically like “Even thought you’ve led us to hell and back, we’re always by your side.” They do poor explanations of what Arthur has gotten them into (”we defeated an immortal army and fought a screaming ghost….” or something idk).  But the song is Extremely Chaotic, complete with a kick line at the end
  • “Caught in the Middle” - Leon’s song about *poetry.* It’s super short (kind of like “I’ll Just Wait Here Then” in Supernatural)
  • There’s dancing
  • Drama
  • Revenge
  • Love
  • A riveting adventure filled with comedy
  • Everything you could possibly ask for in a musical
  • The episode ends with Merlin successfully undoing the spell and Camelot returning to normal
  • Uther comes back to Camelot with a performer he brought home from the other kingdom and at Uther’s return dinner, the person’s like “Does anyone want to hear a song?”
  • And the camera pans to Merlin, staring at the audience with a look of pure annoyance
